*** Vital tactic for fighting the dogs at the end *** Almost every time, when you shoot that wild dog, MacMillan will immediately run forward towards it - almost always into death. It is very difficult (to say the least), to save MacMillan, and at the same time fight off the onslaught of dogs, on veteran. If you follow what I done, and throw a grenade in front of where MacMillan is heading (at the other end of that doorway) the AI (artificial intelligence) of MacMillan, will force him to run away from the explosion - the only way for him to go is back towards you - he will then follow his script, and stand to your left at the doorway - out of danger from the death zone he would have ran into. I want to spare other players from the pain of going through this whole mission, only to have MacMillan run into his death and ruin everything. I had already gone through this at least 3 times with my highest score, only for MacMillan to keep running forward into death. I had to strategise and conceive a method that would stop MacMillan from dying. I used MacMillan's AI to my advantage. Good luck :) My specs are: Pentium 4 CPU 3.4GHz, 1GB RAM, 256MB ATI Radeon X300 graphics card. Recorded using Fraps.

When I made this video, back in April 2008, I hadn't set out to make a video on Arcade Mode. The original concept was to take out everything in the mission without dying. This was conceptualised after I saw a video of the heli at the church being taken out on Veteran. I then decided to attempt it on Arcade Mode, so it would be easier to see each shot being on target.

My video then began to evolve into a high score attempt - as I began to discover more efficient ways of taking out groups of enemies. The group @ 00:17 is a perfect example.
Even though a high score was achieved in this video, it was never intended to be a thorough high score attempt - mainly due to time constraints (this video was done in one weekend - and was a friendly competition between myself and a Russian player - to be the first to do the whole mission without dying / killing everyone).

For my latest high score attempts (400k, and 500k points), I spent over a week looking into every conceivable scenario, and came up with 4 different tactics. One tactic involved the 2nd helicopter at the fire escape - where the key scoring points are gained. This tactic had to be abandoned due to inconsistent variables - there was a randomness factor in the enemy numbers, which threw off the timing.

After I had completed my new All Ghillied Up high score video, in which I discovered that the x2 zero death bonus was irrelevant - I then decided to look into OSOK (One Shot, One Kill), and apply the same meticulous approach, in which I soon realised I could gain a score, far higher than even thought possible (a final score of 5.5 million). I have made a test video of this, but hadn't uploaded it - as it would have revealed my tactical designs. This would have forced me into doing the whole thing.

  • Nice!!!

  • @VanyaKT

    Thanks :p

  • however you excecute these plans especially on veteran. You make it look so easy, must require some serious mental stamina as you said to the other guy.

  • @TheSchemer1

Yeah, you're right mate. This video really does make it look easy, when it's anything but. You're right about the mental stamina too - as there can be a bit of pressure on you when you're doing particularly well in a challenge like this, requiring real focus and self-discipline to see it through to the end.

Thanks for your feedback mate. I appreciate it. I'll be uploading new videos of "All Ghillied Up" over this weekend - where I improve on this high score by at least 100k

  • that's why i like cod and shooting games so much!!becuase there are always more than just one way to complete a mission or overcome a difficulty.you can try different tatics, weapons, spots etc.

about your staretgy using the RPD in prone is better than mine.you conserve ammo while you are at a position where enemies are not going to have a shot on you.i also liked the way you took down the heli on the 1st part.

  • Your a very talented video game player.

  • Just letting you know, MacMillan won't go inside the tunnel towards the dogs if you don't go up to the tunnel yourself. Kill the first dog like you did but stay back and let them come to you a little farther back than you were.

  • @IWantBritneySpears I also used all my RPD ammo and didnt use the G36 cause i didnt take it to that bit and cause im under pressure i dont have time to swap weapons from stinger to g36 as well...

  • @IWantBritneySpears I think they overwhelmed me and probs the timing was a bit off for me as well...

  • @TheSchemer1

Did you run out of ammo on the RPD or did they overwhelm you? I used the G36C so I would still have enough ammo on my RPD to take out all the convoy. Though they can all be taken out with the RPD - but it requires head shots. In my video I was trying to position the cross-hair just above that railing. That's the spot where the soldiers are turning towards you - but your timing has to be perfect – too early, and ammo will be wasted - too late and they will be further up the stairs.
