@matienes55 a metal detector works by detecting the deflection of an activly generated magnetic field, not by magnetic attraction itself.

@DibbersPage yea it is metallic but not magnetic instead it's mixed with a magnetic metal. you can find gold with it but you would need a really strong metal detector for that look on google
