@Ariadnimusiclover Cant dels Ocells, Song of the Birgs or Canto de las Aves, belongs to the Catalonian folklore. It is based on a Salm from the Christian Bible, that tells the story of birds that traveled to visit the just born Messiah.

@Ariadnimusiclover. Thank You very much for your comment. Paul Casals Defillo was Catalonian, but his mother was born in a small town of Puerto Rico, before leaving to Catalunya. Eventually Casals married Mrs. Martita Casals, his student at Prades, who was also from Puerto Rico. He came here and founded the Festival Casals. A small museum dedicated to him was established at Old San Juan.

Thank you very much for posting this magnificent composition by the best cellist ever! Pau Casals was a gift for humankind. . .his courageous statements in face of the Franco fascists is documented history.
May the fascism that is now spreading in many nations be subdues and may real justice prevail.

Thank you for your message, Ariadnimusic lover. I had listened to this very same version at the web site EPDLP. Seems superior to the recording from the White House and the United Nations. There it is also other version of substandard sound quality that apparently was played by him at his home, here in Puerto Rico, my island.
