Tonight was another great evening for FNG!! The temperature was nice & mild which brought out another sizable crowd to shoot. This match I decided to shoot my SIG 556 SBR w/Trijicon Reflex sight as my primary and my Browning Buckmark for my sidearm. There were 9 hostile targets which required a minimum of 2 rounds in the "kill zone" to take them down. Typically I will take 2 magazines for my primary (1-30rd & 1-20rd) and 2 magazines for my sidearm but this time I opted to take only 1-30 round magazine for my primary and 2 magazines for my pistol. Instead of me pumping 5-6 holes in each target and burning through both of my primary magazines, I needed to slow down some and make my shots count and if I hit bolt lock then I would transition to my sidearm. I did do an early transition on the 2nd to last target when I couldn't lean far enough to engage with my primary so I dropped back, drew my sidearm and engaged. I got a penalty for that as I should've went dynamic on that target instead of "giving away my position" to transition. I did hit bolt lock on my last target and transitioned, but I didn't need to fire my sidearm after that point. Overall it was a good time but by the time I had to shoot it was getting dark which made it harder to film as it wasn't yet dark enough for flash lights...but not light enough for the camera to pick up on all of the targets and focus fast enough at times. Oh well...
You must not live in Cumberland County if you have an SBR.
