The characters and such seemed a bit meh too, but oh well... Anywho , I'd say it's still worth a play, especially now the price has probably gone down a fair bit. It's not an awful game really, but I think the problem is that it was called Final Fantasy and people expected more.

I don't think FF13 is much more Linear than previous Final Fantasys... Especially 10. The problem is they don't disguise it nearly as well... They were maybe trying to streamline the game... Also I think it was originally being made for PS2 but then they changed their mind and kinda restarted it... Some people complain about the battle system's auto attack thing, but you don't need to use it and it gives you more chance to focus on paradigms. There is annoying level cap thing too though...

Well, theoretically, if the interaction between the human cells and Jenova cells caused a higher output maybe... Or he could be modified or augmented in some way to increase the efficiency of the power... probably not the case, but still ^_^;; Possible answers to your question.
