@marcmmmmm Yep that was their job ... the Cairns of stones [were built on the western islands of Scotland such as the Isle of Skye]........ to mark one's property thereby creating an ideal home for rats in the process...this was the function of these dogs to kill vermin...the word terrier is from Old French.... deriving from Terra [Earth] great little chaps....

Hi..have a Cairn, Lochie, but we pronounce it "C air n", rather than Carn...are we wrong ?
