@Johnlindsey289 Very true. However, this primative little black and white gem scared me silly when I was a kid. On winter nights (especially during blizzards) I didn't like going outside and into the dark. Howard Hawks did up this movie with a lot of great dialog and lots of spooky shadows. Take care.
They didn't have the time or the technology to do the creature justice back in the 50's, so instead they had a vegetable that didn't imitate or infect anyone
I like both, the 1951 version was fantastic sci-fi @ the time and it's very interesting to think of an alien life form that instead of evolving from mammals such as ourselves it evolved from vegetables which sounds weird at first but could make sense in RL. the 1982 version I love because the monster is also an original concept with the mimicking of another life form and the grotesque transformations.
@BAILkrewCOMPANY The alien life form in Campbell's original tale was very similar to the 1982 remake (with Kurt Russell). I meant that someone should redo the story set in the 1930s (like Campbell's story, Who Goes There?).
Sorry, Dimitri Tiomkin is the composer's name.
