Met Rich at the Good Beer festival at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury, Maryland. What a nice guy and willing to share his passion for brewing.
He even made beer with Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head.

this helped me a lot with my project or social studies

That's too bad. I got in contact with Rich and he's doing a demonstration in July. Unfortunately all of these events take place on Friday and Saturday and I'll never be able to attend those. Seems like video would be my only option - and from what you've said, that's not an option.
That's a shame. And why limit the education to those folks who can make it to Camden or wherever ...

Spotters,
This is the whole video. There were other things I had hoped to get from the demonstration that day. Unfortunately, some folks at the Camden County Historical Society, who at first said I could shoot so long as I paid admission, suddenly got annoyed, complaining I was diverting Rich from the rest of the crowd. Funny that no one was cut off from speaking to him because of me. Oh well.

Would they have hopped beer in 18th century America??
OPE08 4 years ago
Certainly. Hops were used in England in the 1400s, and were being grown in North America in the 17th century.

I don't know if they still do but Gene used to have free tours on Saturdays.
