With prayers and thoughts for Don Sanderson. A Whitby Dunlops forward who was severely injured during a fight where his head hit the ice during a game in early December 2008. This story was also featured on tsn.ca Get well soon Don!
@81camaroz the only reason fighting is allowed in the north american game is for fear of losing the money from morons like you !! hockey don't need your pennies!!
mrcha0s you get what i'm saying and you are right about the cheap shots as well. as for the other guy who commented fuckin boo-hoo, this guy knew the risk of not having his helmet strapped up, the chances of it coming off when he is falling are so little that you can't blame him for it but if he didnt know the risk then he was a goon
you mtoher fucker, sanderson fucking died because of this, u say shit like that when people are dying, i had to see him in the hospital before he died, we love you don and rest in peace,
That and it's much better to let them get rid of their anger right then and there instead of having someone get a cheap shot during the game which could be much more dangerous.
wow people are going to want to throw down and scrap anymore if you have to keep your helmet on, and all cuz this fuckin bitch...whitby is full of hicks anyways. if this rule ever carries over to the nhl i will stop watching hockey for good, fighting is part of the game!
being a person who had to call it quits at 20 years old from full contact ice hockey i can tell you it sucks. this was an accident some people do not know the whole story on how they BOTH fell down to the ice and sandersons helmet was coming off as he fell. it sucks and i feel bad for his family and his girl friend especially shes taking it extremely hard.
hisi father even said it was an accident so when the father of a child who died from this type of thing says that i believe it.
I can imagine Officer, once you play hockey its in your blood and not being able to play from an injury would drive me nuts.I hope things worked out ok for you though.
