I really cant stand when people say "if its meant to be it will be" no offense to anyone who says that but the truth is if youre gonna sit back and let things go or walk away from someone you love, you cant just say oh well if it was meant to be it would have been. I cant just let my hands off the steering wheel of my car and let it crash into a tree and tell the cop "if it was meant to stay on the road it would have". How can this be a reasonable saying when it comes to letting love get away?

@bikerchrish Agree. Whoever said that is an idiot and is a fatalist who waits helplessly for his fate. Life is mostly in your hand and if you play your dices right, the odds likely favor you. Fun movie to watch but dumb premise.

@bikerchrish if you were keen, you'll observe that the two protagonist (roles played by John Cusack & Kate Beckinsale) made their choice. They read, follow the sign, and act on it. Now haven't they gave Mr. Cupid a little hand? They did. Jonathan (Cusack) cancelled the wedding and Sara (Beckinsale) traveled from LA to New York to find him. Isn't this somehow synonymous to your " hands on the steering wheel" story? The movie primarily tells us that Fate is be mediated by our decisions & actions.
