Configuring Yahoo IMAP E-Mail accounts in Mail (Mac OS X v10.6)

If you have tried and failed to configure IMAP for the Apple e-mail client for your Yahoo Plus mail account here's the solution!

Unfortunately when setting up accounts in Mail we aren't offered the option of selecting IMAP over POP. This brief narrated tutorial with screen shots will assist you in the successful implementation of IMAP with Yahoo Plus mail.

i think if you have OSX Lion, it just sets it automatically!

@00almira Define "long". My account initially took about 3 hours to sync because i have over 30 folders, many with sub-folders. You are downloading a copy of every item to your local disk.

thank you thank you thank you...I was sick and tired of that keychain. I had my computer since june and I haven't had any real solution. I was fine going online for mail but I want to use my Mac. it also became personal and I knew there was a way.

I cant conect mail with yahoo.... try to connect with smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I cant go to next stp... Cant connect with the server. Any tip will be apreciated. TY
