  • Sir Lord Baltimore are a pioneering American heavy metal band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 1968 by lead vocalist/drummer John Garner, guitarist Louis Dambra, and bass player Gary Justin. They are most notable for the fact that a 1971 review of their debut record, Kingdom Come, contained the first documented use of the term "heavy metal" to refer to a style of music.[1] Additionally, Sir Lord Baltimore featured a drumming lead singer, traditionally a rarity in rock and metal music.[2]

  • amazing how the interwebz gives you access to awesome old bands that the radio never did and never would

  • @SunofMercury

It might have something to do with the fact that Metallica and Slipknot fans are in many cases, clueless kids..... or that many underground Thrash fans still can't really accept that the mainstream will never care for the bands that aren't part of the Big 4 and are always saying "I think these bands should be on the Big 4 instead of ___".... who gives a fuck really! SLB is great. No need to argue about it! hahaha! :)

PD I like your tastes, I subscribed :)

  • I like how with this music there is no argument, it's infallible, and only everyone agree that it's untouchable, whereas on the other hand with all of the Thrash and whatnot, if you look at the comments, all you see is "METALLICA IS BETTRZ!" and "THERE ARE MORE PEEPLZ IN SLIPKNOT SO THERE KEWLER!"

  • @beroth77 Yeah but Sabbath was putting out more volume and were generally better-known. Way back in the very very early days, SLB would be opening for Sabbath

  • These guys were the fucking shit, Totally badass!

  • Considering that my favourite band is Black Sabbath, I´m loving this a lot.

  • Thank God for "related videos", looking for some Lucifer's Friend song and i find this, another jewel of the 70's
