Rafting the Wild & Scenic Eel River in California with Ron, Joan, Jon, Pat , Glenn and Buddy the dog... March 2010 put-in flow was 2960 CFS at Dos Rios. Dos Rios to Alderpoint is about 49 miles and takes a minimum of 3 days. The shuttle is 6 hours or you can hire a shuttle driver. Approximately 200 miles long, it drains a rugged area in the California Coast Ranges and flows North. The Eel River's watershed is 3,684 square miles and is the third largest in California. During the flood of 1964 the flow was 700,000 CFS and was 19 feet over the abandon railroad that parallels the river.

  • What an awsome video !

  • It was interesting to see we just ran it this last week, Apr29 to May1 and started out at 22000 cfs and finished at 12000 cfs. I thought it was funny as we did not see some of hte features and scenery you had in your video. One in particular was the water way between the columns was not a waterfall.

Well hope you all had a good trip and thanks for posting your video.

    cheers
