Nikkei got hammered again. 26 year lows, I heard. Hang Seng closed down -13%. Dow futures are testing 8,000. Down some -240 points. If holiday retail sales are way down, next year will be gloomy, indeed. (Holiday season is when retailers make the money that gets them through the rest of the year. If they don't make the money - and this year, they won't - a lot of people in the entire supply chain are going to be out of work very early next year.)

yes myspace is right, there is total manipulation on market. 1) people are selling 2) the banks and inst are short large positions to prop up the dollar.

Evil schemes are rife and manipulations are at all time highs man.

I have a friend on the futures exchange that side trade the weather. Yes they bet on whether it will be sunny, windy, rainy, Snowing the next day. Yes this is the truth. They kind of do this for fun, but how is that for crazy??

well from what I understand, US dollars are being used to settle contracts and bets from all sorts of crazy gambling transactions that were allowed on wall st., which has been driving the dollar index sky high, the quickest rise in 40 years just recently, we'll see what happens when the dust clears...

Convinced a girl to not visit the US because of what is about to happen. By the way, in a Tokyo bank today there were no US dollars for sale at the foreign exchange counter. Can anyone enlighten me as to why this might be?

Like watching a slow motion car wreck. This is going to be a happy little death spiral, now. Watch oil producing nations, too. If oil drops below $50.00 a barrel, their social and political instabilities will only increase. Plus, if the Yen drops below 80-90 cents, things will really get interesting.
