Ibogaine is scheduled because of the weak excuse that it is an hallucinogen. Any substance natural or lab created that causes hallucinations or entheogenic experiences will be scheduled in the U.S. because if more U.S. citizens expanded their consciousness they will see the U.S. government for what it is, they will resend consent for the "evil" committed by our gov. and they wil rebel and demand real justice for themselves and the world. Who needs that ?

Darkstarwood is correct. Ibogaine is BAD for opiate addictions. It tends to cause severe psychotic reactions in opiate users. That's not what those of us who are 'in the loop' would call 'therapeutic.'
