The hard part here seems to be to get hold of that bottom/top piece.
But then again it can also be made with different materials.:)

some times they eggs/babies aren't hatch yet. and the egg tumbler act like the mother hatching the eggs. some people use egg tumblers to hatch rarer fish eggs like frontosa. on top of that if you take the eggs form the mom you don't haft to worry about the eggs getting eating buy the mother

why do some ppl use egg tumblers?

so wat if my ruby red peacock female spit out her eggs, can they still be saved?
becuase last week i woke up and i saw that all the eggs were lying on the bottom, i dont know long theyve been out..

maybe just depends if the eggs are bad. if if the eggs are a gold/orange color they are good. but if they are white they are bad.
and i have found eggs on the bottom of my tanks be for and if they are good they will still hatch. the reason why the female doe s this is she want to eat in steed of hatching the babies/eggs. is this your female red peacock first time breeding?

@hotheadej Not all cichlid eggs are gold/orange in colour when fertilised. Eggs from cobalts or frontosas are more of a white colour even when fertilised

@icedsolid
yes very true and frontosa eggs are blue in color. but 95% of fish eggs are a light orange, yellow, red or even gold.
