@Organjic Posse Commitatus doesn't apply to National Guard. You did know that right? Oh and they took an oath to obey the orders of the President and their governor of state.
-
@mustaffa1611 Because they weren't called out until after the snow storm.........
-
@mustaffa1611 No, If you want to sit in your car in a snowbank waiting to freeze be my guest. But I'm sure plenty of people were happy the state used their guardsmen to help out in such shit conditions.

@Cinthorc You really believe some services have to compulsory? Come on. What services are so valuable that they cant be provided for in the voluntary free market the way normal people do it?
-
@mustaffa1611 You do know what the national guard does, right? Judging from your comment I'm not so sure that you do. Judging from the same comment, I'm not even sure you understand how the free market works or how Gov. programs in many cases can't be practically offered in a "free market".
"OH SHIT tornadoes fucked up our city! Best get on the line and order some manpower and medics from amazon to come and help fix this shit! .... oh wait... lines are down. Well shit son."

@Cinthorc Firstly there is no reason to degrade yourself by calling names. Secondly I've never advocating govt to do anything. If anything I always ask "if govt services are so valuable, why cant those individuals calling themselves government provide thier services in the free market like everyone else?"
If you think that was martial law, you have no idea what martial law is or what the national guard does.

@xpensfanatic2009 it was a conditioning operation to train the public to accept military on the streets.

@mustaffa1611 Um no, there was a record breaking snowfall and they were called out to help the public. Just because you were comfortable in your house didn't mean everyone else was. The National Guard's duty is to serve, protect, and help the states and its people. I don't remember these guardsmen forcing people to stay home or anything and I haven't seen the on the streets since.
