Landing at Tenerife South

After 3.45hrs, we finally touched down at Tenerife South airport. Notice how the handling pilot held the plane before touchdown. I can only assume this is to reduce airspeed.

the pilot held the plane above ground because what happens is called ground effect... its what keeps the plane floating for a bit because the air rolls off the wings and hits the ground, propelling the plane slightly upward, causing it to float in a way until the plane falls

I just did this yesterday, on a B752 from Thomas Cook, 4 and a half hours from Newcastle we had a nice landing too
