Yawning Dog

If I scratch a certain part of Frodo's neck, he smiles. Unfortunately, he wasn't in a smiling mood. So I asked him if he loved me instead, to which he always answers me in a yawn which sounds remarkably like "I do"! (Well, to me it does, anyway!)

yawning is a sign of submission and stress, it can also be a relaxing and re-energy thing for dogs. Look your dog eye to eye he will yawn almost all the time. In this case you stressed your dog to yawn.

It could also just mean he's not had enough sleep.

I doubt it. Fat boy sleeps all day long and is at least 5 lbs overweight!!! If he was tired when he talked to me, I'll eat my hat!
