  • What's annoying is that I can't find this recording on Amazon or another 3rd party seller at a reasonable price (i.e. below 30 US dollars) because is by far my favorite Pletnev recording. Tchaikovsky and Pletnev is a perfect marriage of aesthetic sensibilities.

  • I cant find the sheet :/

  • I also recommend the two piano version of Nicolas Economou played by Economou and martha Argerich. Search in youtube.

  • @Pogouldiwitz Search for "Melodiya" - the first result should be that label's sampler with Pletnev's 1978 recording of the Nutcracker suite on it. At the time of this writing, it costs under $5.

  • Do you have sheet music for all the songs?

  • @Pogouldiwitz

  • I recall listening to the radio a number of years ago when the name Pletnev was mentioned for the first time and the presenter said that his transcription of Nutcracker had created a sensation and he was being heralded as a new Horowitz. I immediately went in search of this record , which at the time was not easily available, but I was lucky to find one. It did not disappoint and yes, it also did have that ease and frisson of a Horowitz, as is evident here.

  • кому то троим это не понравилось......разве это может не нравиться?

  • @sagalat: Yes, he DETESTED his Nutcracker... it was at the point in his life when he thought he was losing his talents. Writing the ballet wasn't his idea so he wasn't too thrilled with it at first, he was more into writing his opera that would premiere the same night, "Iolanta", which is extremely beautiful & charming but nowhere near as popular as The Nutcracker. What a silly man to think his talent was disappearing. He hadn't even written his arguably greatest masterpiece 6th Symphony yet...

  • @thesilvershining: You think he hated THIS, too? Not just his '1812 Overture' ???

  • @sagalat Great Gatsby!
