I've been interested in these bikes for a while. But will need to be able to do long distances in them.
What kind of realistic long range cruising speed in your opinion can you expect out of such a bike so as not to have any engine problems?

might be true to some extend, but it was the last truly classically british designed motorcycle in production. I wasn't just a retro designed bike, it just didn't change much through production.

i agree to that to an extend lost after 1969 i would say but how much can yu say the difference betwn a brit made one n indian one befre 1969 , i cant .

Nice sound and good looking bike, i have a 2002 model and wondering did you upgrade to 7 inch halogen headlight?

This bike does have the 7" headlight.

It's the 1955 model, built in 2003. Mine's been very reliable. Very easy to work on, change the oil, etc. No computers or complicated systems.
