  • This horse was looking for comfort when he came into his owner but didn't receive any? He was scared away instead? If this was to teach him not to come into her space then she should have lifted her body language to tell him to respect her personal space upon his approach.

Anyone Watching this video should know that there are many training programs out there that teach horses through reward and comfort, not by negatively engaging the horses natural flight instincts.

  • @KingsBillabongPG The horse isn't always sent away. It depends on how the horse approaches. If it approaches respectfully and softly, then the horse is allowed to come in to the herd. if the horse approaches with a "bravado" manner, looking for world domination, it is sent away. Buddy had a history of bullying his owner, pushing her around, dragging her around, knocking into her, and basically demanding what he wanted when he wanted it.

  • Respond to this video... Buddy was not allowed to demand, however he was allowed to ask.

  • I took his course and it worked well for me..Gave me a base and understanding how horses think. There are always critics...it it works it is a success no training is perfect and no one will ever know everything about horses.Even Peralli has gotten some bad press. I use a blend of all techniques trail and error. There is a thin line between your space and their comfort you have to wal the line to get there.

  • Dan injured my horse demonstrating this technique in Nov 1999 at Equitana Asia Pacific. I was not impressed then and am very disappointed to see no progression in his training techniques.

  • Thank you for posting. This is very interesting.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I've been curious about Sumerel training and this was very helpful. Bernice and Buddy are a great team. :-)
