Melinda is one of those fascinating aspects of the Idol journey: singers with amazing talent who not only get voted off early, but then shockingly, don't land any kind of big recording deal after. It really make one realize how tough this business is. I was just thinking how both of the David's are having very lukewarm careers despite considerable talent and we're hearing nothing about Syesha, Carly, Elliott Yamin(very good first album!), and the list goes on. It's like (see next entry)

EXACTLY! I hate this season. Not everyone is horrible but ther is no one that I would say stands out the way others and Melinda have. I wish Melinda had waited till this season to audition. She would WIPE THE FLOOR with the competition!

When I was watching Idol with Melinda I was shocked that she did not win.. she is a phenomenon in all senses of the word.
