This is my 6th win in iRacing. My first win in trucks! Texas is also where I live so I am really glad I won. I am the black #9 car with no sponsor. It was a very clean race. We even managed to get in a full run and green flag pit stops. Anyway, my car was setup for the short run so after about 20 laps my tires really start to fall off. I got a good start by starting on pole and got to about a 2.1 second lead for many laps. Around Lap 20 was when he started to gain on me. Around lap 32 or so my tires were real bad and I started to drop like a rock. Before I made my green flag stop I was about 4 seconds behind the leader and under fire from 3rd place who pitted along with me at Lap 47. After the stop I was making time up fast and then the caution came out 21 laps later as I took the lead again and 2nd started to close. This caution was my saving grace. I pitted and restarted back on first. Second place that time stayed with me that time and it was a hard battle. Luckily, the caution came back out 3 laps after the restart on Lap 76. I think that if that caution never came out the 3 car would have made it around me. The caution also gave me time to think. We restarted the race with 8 Laps to go and 3 stayed right there with me. I knew if I let him by he would have won the race. My tires were only about 12 laps old but they were wearing out fast because I was pushing it real hard. I was pushing it soo hard that I was smoking the right front getting into turn 1. I knew that all I had to do to keep him from passing was to hold the bottom. There were times when I slid up the track and he got a nose but somehow I managed to stay up top. Comming to the white flag I was a nervous wreck. He had about a half car length on my inside. I pinched him down all the way around the tri-oval. He got loose getting into turn 1 and I heard my spotter say "clear". Immideately I went to the bottom just in time and he was only inches behind my bumper in the middle of 1 and 2. On the backstretch I went down a lane to trap him on the high side. Getting into Turn 3 I got it all the way to the bottom going real slow (around 163mph) to protect the bottom. He was almost bump drafting me around 3 and 4. Comming to the line I was yelling and pumping my fist in the air because I had won my first truck race and I had won at Texas. I think I raced 3 harder than I will ever race anyone in iRacing. I am now a Class A driver with a 3.52 SR and an iRating of 2045. I lead 65 out of 90 laps in the race. The #3 lead 9 out of 90 laps in the race. The margin of victorty was -00.080. I had the 3rd best iRating while the 3 had the best iRating. There were 2 cautions for 9 laps. The SOF was 1939. There were 6 lead changes. I got no penalties or any incidents. I didn't even kiss the wall. I may have made car contact late in the race but I'm not sure. The race was at 3:45PM CT on 06/07/2011. It was the 3rd split out of 7. Well, enjoy!
