This is Roy Bargy's half blues, half novelty number called "A Blue Streak".. It was put on a piano roll in about 1920, and published in a simplified arrangement.. (Which is available in Dover's Ragtime Jubilee: 42 Rags for Piano)..

Such a great time we all had at the West Coast Ragtime Festival this year. I sure hope you can come and enjoy the fun next year!

This is a sample of the exciting music we enjoyed during this years annual festival.

Please visit the websites above for information about the festival, the performers, and their CD's.

  • This one moves pretty good! From 1920 era? It sounds like some Boogie Woogie runs in there...almost like there's some Rock in that Piano Roll. Nicely Played!

  • Hi John!

    Thanks for your nice comments.

  • Yes, this one is quite lovely. Not overloaded with fireworks, but so sublime.

  • Looks like Section A,B, and D are in C, with the trio in F...I think I'd start with those keys...now more advanced players with larger reaches go for the piano roll transcription.

  • What is available in the Dover Jubilee would be like an outline compared to this wonderfully creative performance, though more playable for me for sure! thanks for the info...it's on page 22.

  • Thanks from me too... I should add to all those musicians viewing this in Youtube-land, that there is a new folio: "Piano Roll Sampler" out which includes an exact transcription of Bargy's orginal 1920 roll, in the original keys! (Gb as compared to F; yikes!).

  • Thanks for your kind assistance. Up in the write up this goes so more folks will see it.

  • Amazing talent. G.G.
