'This means nothing to me' It's not that simple. The genius who wrote the song knew that you had to be in, understand Vienna in order to cast everything aside. In other words - you have to achieve the highest (And Vienna is the highest of European life) in order to say that you or I do not matter anymore.

A bit of a modern day urban myth. Subject is covered in 'Vienna' the play by Mike Francis and was actually John Lennon's Woman that was the culprit (but I guess Joe Dolce's comical rant made for a better story?). However I agree, it easily should have been number 1 for a very long time.
