  • Saw him today at my school, he was beyond fantastic

  • heard him play this tune live at Village Vanguard, beyond awesome

  • @GregRX7 There are fewer people making "a living" at jazz now than ever. There were always the truly scary players(Keith Jarrett, Art Tatum etc) and the "2nd tier" players (Phinneas Newborn, Al Haig etc). I'd argue that Fred has a lot of depth and imagination for a "2nd tier" player, and fully deserves to make a living at jazz. And "genius" is a really misleading term too....

  • @GregRX7 You really have no clue, man; you don't hear the deepness of Fred's music. Perhaps you have to get older to appreciate it.

  • Wow... Beautiful.

at which school did he play? he teaches anything?

  • Saw him perform this today at my school. :) Truly amazing.

  • A great musician! His touch is so lyrical and deeply. Long life for him! He is a true MASTER of our time. Thank's Fred, for all...

  • Beautiful

  • The Scriabin influence is really apparent on this track. I love what he's done with it.

  • Fred only goes to show you don't need to be a genius to make a living in jazz; solid, competent, lyrical is "good enough"...today.
