@Steeeezey Come on, man. Kings of Leon are "talent?" Muse? Those bands are tailor-made for mass appeal. Muse has been on more NFL broadcasts than any band should aspire to. Seriously? The Strokes had one good albums, one okay album, and then a bunch of filler.

@seriussam101 We're in agreement about that.

@mskcouric You're right, I can't compare apples to oranges. However, I CAN compare Soulja Boy's ability to dance to, say, The Sugarhill Gang's ability to dance. Or, more appropriately, I can compare his ability to dance to any number of truly awful disco singers/dancers.
-
@seriussam101 Devoid of heart, maybe, but you can't deny the musical ability of a disco drummer as compared to, say, Soulja Boy's "ability" to dance.
-
@mskcouric The entirety of disco and the (near) entirety of New Wave were just as devoid of talent and heart as the artists you mention, if not more. Bad music has always been popular. I don't respect Soulja Boy, but I don't hate him as much as I hate the likes of 90% of disco and New Wave synth pop bands.

@kgrumm the strokes, muse, little hurricane, kings of leon, the killers, the black keys, there's a lot of talent out there today too, i could name more if you want, i think you are being a little judgmental of the crappy music that is considered popular today
-
@seriussam101 You're right about those eras, but at least the musicianship was (almost always) there. Today's pop music is not only sterile and unfulfilling, but devoid of talent as well. Think Soulja Boy, Ke$ha, Brokencyde.

when the hell is there gonna be a artist or band who is at least similar to the mats? nothin compares to this nowadays.....
but when you were growing up there was good music and bad music too... did you hear much about the good underground bands or mainly what was popular ones? youre streotyping all youth today to listen to lady gaga and nicelback. there always has, and will be good music in the world as long as you know how to look for it...
i hope this made sense... it was kinda hard to put my thoughts into words.

Beautiful, as is all Replacements, Westerberg, et al. The understatement is missed on the current generation of Nickelback idiots. I hope there is something equivalent out there now, but I doubt it. Such glorious memories, though.
