That is "Händel Werke Verzeichnis", a catalogue of Händel's works, not in cronologigal order. His operas, for example, is numbered HWV 1 - 42, his oratorios HvW 46-71, and so on. It is not ordered chronologically like Mozart's works. Please feel free to ask if there is anything more you would like to know. I've studied Handel since the the age of 17, so I think I know a bit.
