no i thought epirus...in my village surnames are: tanassi,musacchio,peta,occhion­ero(mavromatis),licursi...ecc.­they're all towns of karditsa-arta-cameria

moraitis is from thiva brother.they are ex muslims and they come from kosova.his first name is thanasi not his surname.about the origin of those surnames i dont know to tell you the truth exactly but i know that musacha is also in north also and in south like cameria

They are inhabitants of Morea zone of Peloponesius, the similarities of their language and that of italian arbeshe, are explained due to immigration during 16-17 cent. immigration of Morea ppl to Italy. And at last it is explained since both subjects are of albanian origin.

it was their proprety, but they came from epiro and ionc islands, expecially from mouzakion,zakinthos(wich is the most common name in my town, and the word zakinthos suonds more albanian then greek...anyway we have also a lot of greek surnames and words, so we can think that in XV century greek and albanians were used to live together...i hope the same peace for the future,in those beautiful damned lands of my ancient)...rini mir e duheni mir

Musacchio I believe comes from Berati - Muzaka (there is a whole region in Southern Albania which was their property and even today they call Myzeqeja - or Muzakia, it encompasses the cities of Lushnje and Fier).

all the arvanite speek like the arberesch.our language changed by turk occupation a little bit. north greek was less occupated thats why your words are more pure albanian..
