  • Hi, I have a Acer Aspire Revo R3700 which is great but lacks the esata port that this model has but the solder points and the whole where it used to be is still there, do you know of anywhere you can get the parts that were in this version which I could solder into the newer version?

  • @shakeuk Sorry I don't know, but I think there are Revo forums out there somewhere, and they would surely be able to help you.

  • Hi there,

That's amazing. I was just looking to change my wifi-card because I have a hard time getting it to work in Linux, but I think I might do this tweak too, just to boost the signal.

I just have a few questions, if that's okay:

    - This will work on the Acer Revo R3610, right?

    - Have you got any specifications (or places to buy) both the antenna and the card?

  • @larsenpedersen Yes, this was done on a R3610. The antenna was just any old one from ebay - just pick one that's the length you want with a decent DB gain number. The WiFi card I'd previously replaced the stock one with (see my other Revo video) was an "HP BCM4321 broadcom 4321 802.11n wifi Mini PCI-E Card" It cost £8.50 from Ebay.

  • Hi there, I got a question. I'm going to add an 7dbi antenna to my laptop. My laptop is using Intel 5300 abgn WLAN card which has 3 U.FL port that is connecting to each antenna. So, will it matter if I add 1 new antenna to it by replacing the gray one just as you said in this video? And what is the other 2 for?

  • @maxchu92 Unfortunately I don't know the answer to these questions.

  • Well put together and informative video Thanks for that

  • Great video. Extremely informative and helpful.

  • Weren't you using your drill backwards?

  • Thanks a lot for the video guide. I just did the same mod and have seen a huge improvement in the wifi signal. It now streams 720p over the air beautifully.

  • I Think its best to use a Homeplug Adapter " Powerline Ethernet Adapter " Your Internet Signal Travels through the Electric cables through your house gives you better signal. You can buy them on Amazon.co.uk for about £40.00 or Higher.

The WIFI SIgnal is No Good To Weak

  • - and specifications (pleace to buy) for the RAM too, if you please? :)
