  • @talent91is Nah I think I'm serious enough to know about "spoken word". There are many factors that contributed to her piece that you and alot of people would not have realized with the naked eye. One cannot simply say another person had the better poem without analyzing every factor both visible and hidden in the world of slam.

  • @MesiahPoet a merriad of reasons that Yung had a stronger piece, not to take credit away from Ms. Simon, if you are serious about spoken word you can message me and i will explain in detail some of the important factors in having a strong spoken word piece, moral of the story, Yung had a better Poem, Janine had a more entertaining piece. It simply lacked the depth neccessary to win at a higher level of competion.

  • B.Yung's piece was better because of its depth, both artist had excellent delivery but it was the imagery that made his peice so memorable, his ability to take obscure instances and paint vivid pictures for an audience is what seperates him from most. In addition his topic was much more specific and less popular among spoken word artist, her poem was centered around women which is great but its been done far too often, this may win at Kps but not at BNV or any national competition, there are

I just flew back from London from an Invitation only spoken word festival,I've won every slam ive been apart of(over 20)i shared a stage with Black Ice a month ago and opened up for Shihan in October, im 19 and have been invited everywhere from Upenn Columbia and Spelman, Ive had personal conversations with the likes of Joshua Bennett, Jasmine Mans, Miles Hodges,Carvens Lissaint and more, Im headed to Cali next week ill be sure to ask myself that same question
