Yagi Meitoku is shown performing the Seipai kata at the dedication of Shuri Castle in 1992. Master Yagi, (1912-2003), was a student of the legendary Chojun Miyagi, (1888-1953). In 1986, he was named a National Living Treasure by Emperor Hirohito.

  • Read the news in October, 2002 - Gashuku (Kenyu-Ryu Karate Association Brazil) AKKB - ASSOCIAÇÃO KARATÊ KENYU-RYU BRASIL

With few participants, but to a very high technical level and with specific courses of Jiu-jitsu and karate (Daniel Sete Câmara) and Ki Breathing (Vail Mungai) and Special Techniques (Akio Yokoiama). The event was a complete success, like all others conducted by AKKB. See the photo illustrations at HISTÓRICO, on the bottom of the page at: wwwakkbcombr/

  • nice to see karate kata that includes joint manipulation.

  • @MrNayfframpo the aim is also bad :).

    Completely anti-karate attitude.

1st of all, karate is not supposed to be a medium for competition.

2nd: you're supposed to be humble and not to boast.

Haven't your sensei taught you that?

  • oss !!!!

  • thats at suri castle in okinawa. i miss oki

  • He is a true legend. His form is increadable. And, now I hope to meet his Son. (for the obvious, I won't sepll his first name for I will butcher it.) Yagi Sensei.

Oh, and with respect; Goju Ryu means hard/soft way.

  • may the Buddha bless his soul, a true inspiration to all Gojuryu Karateka

  • Hope I can perform like this at eighty, amazing. Thanks

  • What a pleasure to watch this eighty-year old master perform one of my favourite kata! Thank you for this

  • That was a great kata. God rest his soul. I recently found out that the Yagi family are the direct descendants of the 36 families of Fukien province that moved to Kume, Naha in 1392 during the Ming Dynasty.
