Ralph Kirby, Marketing Manager for the Nanaimo Chamber (Ralph is holding the mike) did an excellent job networking, making announcements and collecting business cards for this Nanaimo business mixer.

With almost 75 people in attendance the business mixer was an incredibly successful social event. The wide diversity of business types including almost every category from restaurants (Subway, Lee's Chicken), manufactures (ABC Precast), RCMP (Superintendent Norm McPHAIL), shopping centre (Woodgrove Centre), port authority (NAP), doctor (Dr. Jason Hare), pet food supply (Eco Munchies), seaplanes (Seair Seaplanes), tourism (Inn on Long Lake), magazine (Nanaimo Magazine), social media, conference centre (VI Conference Centre) business coache (Nick West), advertising (Webacom Media) and the list goes on.

Mark Corbett, Marketing Manager for the Nanaimo Museum even brought a guest all the way from Brazil. She is a tax lawyer and has never visited Canada before. Thanks Mark!

The evening began with a demonstration on "Open Circle Networking" presented by Nick West, Business Coach. As many may know when attending social events it's often difficult to network with new people when groups of people cluster in a circle. Thus the concept, open circle networking, allowing people to join conversations without having to butt in.
