I am the one who took this video and lived in Vegas when the HACIENDA was imploded on New Years Eve to make way for the Mandalay Bay. Just because you live there doesn't mean you know all about it, dude.

What a beautiful building! Its so sad when great buildings like the Landmark get "replaced" by such insignificant things like parking lots. :(

i loved the landmark.though i never saw it. i was born after it was demolished.i was born in 2004.my second favorite hotel is the sands.

The Landmark was my favorite casino and hotel - I stayed there many times in the 80's. Once I ventured up on the top floors - they were emty but I could tell they were used for banquet rooms or suites. I did eat at a restuarant on one of the top floors once. I believe the powers that be were short-sighted at the time allowing this unique building to be demolished. I can imagine it now with a retro/spaceage/Jetsons theme. It still makes me very sad that it was torn down.

I watched it from the employee parking lot then called A-lot across spring mtn. I was A mirage security officer on mobile patrol nearing the end of my shift. I had been in vegas less than a year but I felt melencholy as I watched it.
