Ask Dr. Mona: How can I calm my sebhorrheic dermatitis? I have had to resort to going on sunbeds as I was Advised that the UV would help. It does help a little but I don't want to have to use sunbeds all the time due to the health risks. Any help or advice would be great.

  • Respond to this video... I am 26. I got invited to go out with some friends tonight. I feel like s**t and don't want to go but I am going to anyways so I don't stay home and feel depressed.

  • @reichsfuhrer1987 So, now i have acne and sunburned and rough looking skin. AHHHHH!!

  • @reichsfuhrer1987 I am right there with you. I know how it feels to feel helpless, defenseless, and just plain OVER IT!! I have acne too. I had to take accutane about 5-6 years back to help because it was so painful. I am still breaking out now though, ever since i started that stupid NuvaRing. I stopped the ring but I can shake the acne. Plus, I got this chemical peel that made my face so thin, dry, flaky, irritated, and jacked up. I think it flared my sebderm.

  • And I am at home all this weekend. I hope the medicine have some effect in some days. How old are you? I am 23 I have acne since I was 11. It´s terrible, so many parts of my life have benn lost forever cuz this fucking ilness I hate life sometimes...

  • I feel like you. And doctors usually seem robots, without feelings. Especially in summer, this ilness is terrible

  • @nebraskafrankcourtny I know exactly how you feel. I have been to so many dermatologists and they just don't seem to care at all. They are always in a hurry and barely take the time to talk to the patient and find out what is going on. I have this all over my face right now, literally, all over. I have been crying all day because I am embarrassed to leave the house and people keep asking me if I have a sunburn. This condition can be so depressing.

  • @nebraskafrankcourtny Hey my buddy told me baking soda cured his eczema

  • I need a better dermatologist. She's in a hurry and is dismissive re my SD. I've been living w/ SD 20+ years. I would cry tears of joy if I could have relief from the scalp, forehead and eyebrow itch and flaking. I want a CURE. I know they say there is none, as it is genetic. I want a dr who will take this seriously, and try to help me. I'm tired of flakes all over my eyeglasses, I'm tired of scratching my itchy hairline or eyebrow in a meeting and suddenly it's a snow storm.

  • i use hydrocortizone cream 0.1 i believe and from personal experience i went tanning regularly and that was THE BEST method IMO.. it may be dangerous but once the tan mixes with the redness you cant even tell PLUS it makes the area so smooth that i felt not self conscious anymore and i was tan n lookin hot ;) try it
