When I was living in Amsterdam for 2 years I had 4 bikes stolen from me. Bloody criminals! Good thing is, you can pick them up for like 40€ used, so it's not a big deal.
@TYNSDALE Not really, there are so many used bikes in the netherlands, that supply is way bigger than demand. A perfectly good bike will cost you around $50 on the used market in the netherlands, which is less than it would cost to bring one of these bikes into good condition. My guess is that these bikes will be handled as scrap metal.
Know one or two bikes around here that could do with throwing in a canal. Not talking of cycles either...lol.
