  • l will stand by my words, this wont get you a gig or pass any audition with any working band. I know your biased, you have to be because the guy is using your gear. Im sorry if l offened you with my comment but l stand by my every word.

  • @MrBribass No worries, non taken. - I'm not trying to work towards a common understanding, and I appreciate your opinion:)

  • @MrBribass Apologies if i'm mistaken, but, does janek not have more gigs than you? To be honest I think your completely missing the point of this piece of outstanding improvisation. The fact is music played on an instrument is a note of self expression, not every note we play as musicians must be in search of a gig rather every note we play should be in search of a greater understanding of sound.

  • @MrBribass: But that's not the point. Of course it will never get you a gig, and you would be laughed off the stage if you tried to audition for something using this concept. It's just a cool concept that you can do to challenge your own creativity. I've had people request similar things of me at open mics. Best one anyone ever requested was "Godzilla has a pink egg." It's not easy lol. Yes, it sounds dull and uninteresting, but again, it's more of a practice/challenge than it is a song.

  • Music is all about expression and creativity and that's what Janek did here. Look what Jaco also did in some his live spontaneous improvisation like "slang", he was fearless and so as Janek who did this at his clinic. This is his clinic so he has every right to say his opinion about music and his own personal style as a musician.

  • on janeks wilkipedia page it says he appears with marcus miller on 'Free' this can't be right can it? aside from that I think it's terrible that he interviews all these famous musicians and uses their fame to prey on high school aged bass geeks to go to his website and buy his online lessons. pretty shameful if you ask me.

  • @MrBribass Man I think that You are against the creativity, your comments are so " basic " and at last without any interesting point ! Janek is an extraordinary amazing bass player ! he won the recognition of all the greatest bass players , so Get your mentality out of there ...

  • this was brilliant and very inspiring to watch , janek took this on a really nice trip :) i need myself a looper an delay!

  • I am amazed.

    What a nice Traffic.

  • @MrBribass I respect your opinion but I think you may be missing the point here. In the bigger picture the goal of music isn't always getting gigs, or making money with a working band. This is for the sake of novelty, fun, and experimentation.

  • Great! Very creative and musical. Impressed.

  • @MrBribass Also quite humble I see.

  • I knew he'd start out with the half steps, perfect car horn emulation.
