  • Cops are required by law to provide all of their police identification when asked, otherwise they have no authority because you can't verify that they're really officers.

  • @benbattles Recording in public and asking an officer for his credentials is not obstruction; it's a right and responsibility.

  • Next time call 911 in front of him and report somebody impersonating a police officer.

  • @TheAtl6100 Actually if regardless of what how why when cops are required to give badge number. As for reasons you see him doing a illegal search violate yours others rights or are not sure he is a cop. (people impersonate cops all the time I have heard of it happening over 3 times this year in my state)Cop in Utah was pulling over minors and strip searching the girls saying they matching a warrants. Until one of his victims remembered his badge number he had over dozen victims.

  • This is stupid..... no info on whats going on...

  • Even if there's no need for the badge number, no need for the officer to identify himself, the law requires the officer to do so when asked. That's all there is to it.

  • that officer owes someone like you wandering around the street pointing a camera yelling out questions NOTHING ...

  • @venusbrain His credentials are all over that damn car, in the uniform he his wearing and visibly displayed on his chest in the form of a star. If this stoner shooting the video wasn't so busy trying to make the police look bad he'd realize that the officers badge number is plainly displayed on his badge(as it is on every other CHP badge in the state of CA). This officer is just doing his job but since he wears the badge he must be in the wrong

  • @bmbutler45 You couldn't be more wrong. You have the right to ask any time you want. It's your business for an infinite number of reasons to ask. Not saying the cameraman here wasn't being an ass. But, none the less he had the right to ask for a badge number regardless.

  • @helzabre the chp officer is performing an inventory search for a tow. There is nothing unusual about that. The car does not belong to the guy filming. The officer tells this guy that his badge # will be on the report. The guy responds that he is not going to get the report. A copy of the tow slip is given to the owner of the car when towed. This guy is listening to a scanner and then going to the scene, just to be a jackass.

  • @bmbutler45 His car is being searched, it has everything to do with him.
