Why all the clapping, is this a celebration of the manufacturers bad quality or the kendokas lack of oiling his shinai?

these competitors seem to use a very light shinai. the one i have is not breakable unless you intentionally crush it.. and it's much heavier too

A hit that brokes a shinai is a bad hit.
A movement well done will never broke a shinai.

This happened at my comptition...someone stole the shinai and was waving it around during lunch break. And awsome hit!
