This is a story about a woman who had been told she was going to die from a rare liver cancer. She went to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and met a doctor who performed a revolutionary surgery that saved her life. He removed part of her liver and let it grow back and then removed the other part that still had cancer in it and let it grow back. This is another Heartland Proud news feature that airs weekly on KPTM TV in Omaha, NE. I shoot, write and edit these pieces by myself over a 2-3 day period. They are shot primarily with a Canon XH-A1 and edited using Final Cut. Although I am now using a Canon 5D Mark II for portions of the stories, along with a Pansonic Lumix TZ-5 that I put on a monopod and use for boom shots.
