  • @tunatwo We were staying at the Sonoran Sun Resort that week and waited until the tide went out. The stingray got caught in some of the deep pools that are in the reef, so they were stuck there until the tide came back in. Normally, we never see stingray there. Hardly see any fish either, unless you get out into the deep water. I bring my snorkel and mask and go out looking for fish, only see a few. I would have loved to see a baby stingray, wish there had been a few!

  • I love to snorkel, and just this week was right out at the reef and saw 8 rays within about 1 hour. It's very neat to be about 3-5' above them and watch them swim and feed. Also, you just barely can see reflection of the condos in your video... do you recall which condos this was in front of? Not that that matters, the whole beach is only a few miles... so if they are in one place then they are pretty much everywhere. I've had a baby (about 2" dia) swim right between my feet in about 6" water.

  • @tunatwo There was a storm at sea that drove them in and there where hundreds of them trapped in the reef. Every day people were getting stung by them, one guy got it right through his shin!

  • holy crap! we've got a condo on Sandy Beach and I've never seen 'em like this. That is very cool video. Scary weird cool!
