Simon, you are exactly the reason why people don't come back - 'the whole a unoo run wey and leave di country fi tear down". What ingratitude?? Do you know how many of us UNWILLINGLY leave Ja, only to struggle thru severe winters and hardships. Why don't you all and the thiefin govt provide opps to empower the citizens instead of oppressing ppl and selling off Ja to foreigners. Let us (the diaspora) stop sending di likkle $100 a month to relatives and see what really happens to Jamaica....

@MKS561 You are correct that the attitude described does prevent many people from wanting to return. I do want to point out that Simon was merely playing a role, the role he always plays on 'Smile Jamaica', similar to the role of Simon on American Idol....the bad guy. He specifically spoke to me before the interview to explain what he was going to do and why, pointing out that lots of Jamaicans did believe it and so he was going to raise it the way they would and allow me to respond.
