Casey Anthony Defense Lawyer Jose Baez: There's No Winner Today

Following a verdict of not guilty handed down by the jury in the Casey Anthony trial on Tuesday, Casey Anthony's team of lawyers spoke to the press.

In remarks by Jose Baez, he said that this case has brought on new challenges in the criminal justice system, as well as in the media. "I think we should all take this as an opportunity to learn and to realize that you cannot convict someone until they have their day in court," Baez said.

Baez continued, saying that America's Constitution is the "greatest in the world," and if the media and other members of the public don't respect it, it will become meaningless.

The attorney also acknowledged the prosecution, calling them incredible adversaries and some of the most wonderful lawyers he's ever seen.

As for his feelings about the defendant, Casey Anthony, Baez said he's extremely happy about the verdict. "I'm ecstatic for her, and I want her to be able to grieve and grow ... somehow get her life back together."

I was believing she was guilty until I took the initiative to read and watch every single thing I could and there was clearly more evidence to support she drowned .All the Nancy Graces should be held responsible for turning this into a witch hunt.I am embarrassed by the americans who do not accept the juries verdict.These brave people knew full well they would become social Pariahs with this verdict but did the right thing knowing the consequences .They are Heroes if you really think about it.

I still can't get over this Baez saying Casey is a good mother, that is absurd. I don't know about the rest of you but when my daughter was 2 years old I knew where she was EVERY second of EVERY day and if I had lost sight of her for even 30 minutes I would be calling the police!! GOOD mothers take care of their babies, they don't party like rock stars while their baby is missing and forget to report it!!!

@garybecca There was not enough evidence to support a dp case.And I think she should have been charged accordingly.I think it was a witch hunt to try her for capitol murder.There was way more evidence for involuntary manslaughter.I do not think it was planned out.She was mad at her mom for telling her she was unfit.and I do believe she might have let it happen on purpose or maybe drown her herself.But it was not capitol murder and they the prosecutors knew it.
