"Through the words of the inhabitants of the hill tracts, both "hill people" and recently arrived Bengalis, Teardrops of Karnaphuli tells the devastating story of dam construction in the area, the displacement of people and the resulting impoverishment and suffering of local inhabitants. The hill people lament this period and have termed it the "Great Exodus." About 100,000 people were evicted from their land during 1959-1962 when Kaptai Lake was created."
"The film also describes how the Bangladeshi government started settling people from the late 70s from outside the region, and how this laid the basis for protracted instability and human rights violations."

I am also a Bangladeshi. We need to remove this dam. This Dam was bild by Pakistan to kill the peace and unity of our. After 1971 war and still today we didn't able to produ... enough engrey that's why the dam is not remove yet. But time is came, to work toghter and produ.. more engrey and remove thins fucking Pakistani no good dam the cost of anything.

I heard about this documentary 5 years ago from Tanvir Mokammel in London.The film shows how less we know about some of our own citizens.Many thanks for making and sharing the film with us.

why don't the Bangladesh government do a population exchange with with Burma..

we take all Rohinga's from Burma in return all the Buddhist tribes in CHT hill tracks go to burma
