This CSX train was Northbound on the Toledo Sub in Glendale Ohio (former B&O and CH&D [Cincinnati Hamilton & Dayton]). The Glendale Depot is visible briefly as the train passes it. The CPL's are still there today, as well as a restaurant which has a deck where you can watch the trains (The Trackside Cafe). This train came by at dusk so the lighting was somewhat interesting.

  • It would help to get a tripod if u don't already have one, I know this is old but, I was just wondering because the vid would've been a lot better, so it was good to see the action anyways, thank-you!

  • Sometimes you stop somewhere and you see the CPL indicating a train coming and you think: gee, I have my new camera with me. It says it takes low light pictures, let's try it out! :-) You're right, the tripod was at home that day. Still, I think my videos have a story to tell, especially the older ones, about how things used to be in various railroad places. I think you'll enjoy them even if they are shakey now and then.

I am visiting in mid-March. I can't wait to see those railroad tracks and the trains again! Thanks again! You have given people from Glendale a gift!!!!!

  • absolutely. my grandparents lived across from st. gabriels church so when i would always hear christ church (every 15 minutes) and the trains and it was always fun going there

  • Very nice video, love that horn.

  • I have to say I agree with you. I tend to refer to the sound of trains as music to my ears. The clickity clack to the rolling wheels, they are an interesting sound maker.

  • People think hearing the trains by my house would drive me nuts, but since I've always grwon up hearing them, it's actually rather soothing :-)

  • Finally, some cincinnati action! More Please!
