@deepvisual I'm using Resolume on a PC,but i assume it's similar in purpose to M8,i just can't figure out how to add a different video to each map. It's probably so simple,the penny just hasn't dropped yet. Thanks for your response.

Once i have created the mask and projected the image back through the projector,how would i get each of the buttons and dials to light up a different color and not all the same video footage?

@ATGxQuadPimp either, use different video for each button, or use one video with lots of different coloured areas .. you could globally change these using a filter or the inbuilt color correction in M8

thanks for getting back. I take it you mean that when I take the picture I need to make sure I've 'cropped' the image size of the camera to the size of the projected screen......as near as possible?

no not at all.
use a focal length that has the same throw ratio/lens angle as the projector lens.
this technique only works if you use the same lens angle on both projector and camera.
