A video I made for my Digital Storytelling class in Spring '10 about our push for the return of gender-free bathrooms in Demarest Hall, special interest building at Rutgers University (where there are currently no ResLife sanctioned LGBTQ safe spaces or housing accommodations for gender-variant students).
Update (Summer 2011): Our activism has made a difference - a new special-interest dorm called Rainbow Perspectives is starting up in the fall, and ResLife is implementing gender-neutral housing options in 3 dorms on campus this year. Hopefully this will spread even further as we continue to fight for the safety of LGBTQ students and allies on campus in the coming years. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, helped with this video, and attended countless meetings with me - it's paying off!
Very interesting, well-made documentary. One of the parts I wasn't very fond of was the choice of the interviewee that legioxxiv mentioned. I also feel that the video should have mentioned that some people only push for co-ed bathrooms simply because they would prefer to use the bathroom closest to their room.

Great video. Very documentary style as it should be; nice use of clip fading to present the message. However some criticisms; firstly the interviewee was perhaps not of the best choice, clearly not representative of the effect you were going for. Pretty sure interviewee was not of right mindset, I know, I live with him. Perhaps utilizing some more outside perspectives would engage the point further. The petition was a good add-on, to truly make this great have interviews from various groups.
