Huge icicles form on the sandstone sea caves in the Apostle Islands. In March of 2003, Lake Superior was almost all frozen over. Myself and 2 friends walked 10 miles across the ice to see the amazing formations on Devil's Island.

I love the Bayfield area and Lake Superior in the summer time, but I would never walk on frozen ice! You are very brave to do that!
