My 8 Labrador retrievers are fed raw-meaty-bones. They get a large variety of meats and meaty bones. I noticed that the dogs SHAKE green tripe before eating it. They don't shake other meats or bones. There is nothing left inside green tripe to shake out. Why shake green tripe?
Wolves shake out the contents of herbivores' stomachs before eating the organs. Green tripe is the unprocessed stomach of grass-fed cattle, with the undigested grasses removed. When confronted with herbivore stomach, it seems that dogs are prompted to shake out the contents. This behavior may be hard-wired in dogs and wolves.
100% correct. Thank you for your video, it helped prove a point I was making about dogs and wolves not eating the stomach contents of prey when avoidable.
